Common questions about our library services and resources
All registered students, faculty, and staff of Rajarshi Janak University are automatically eligible for library membership. Visit the library circulation desk with your valid university ID card to activate your account. External users can apply for membership by filling out the membership application form available at the library.
Undergraduate students can borrow up to 3 books for 14 days, graduate students can borrow up to 5 books for 21 days, and faculty members can borrow up to 10 books for 30 days. Books can be renewed online through your library account if no other user has placed a hold on them.
Yes, you can access most of our e-resources from off-campus using your library account credentials. Simply log in through the library website or OPAC system using your library card number and password. Some databases may require additional authentication steps, which will be prompted during login.
Study rooms can be reserved in person at the library circulation desk or online through the OPAC system. Reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance. Group study rooms are available for 2-6 hours per session, and you must be present within 15 minutes of your reservation time, otherwise the room will be released.
If you lose a library book, please inform the circulation desk immediately. You will be required to pay the replacement cost of the book plus a processing fee. Alternatively, you can replace the lost book with a new copy of the same edition or a newer edition approved by the librarian. Your account will be blocked until the matter is resolved.
You can suggest books for purchase by filling out the book recommendation form available at the reference desk or through the online form on the library website. Please provide as much information as possible including author, title, ISBN, and reason for the recommendation. All suggestions are reviewed by the library collection development committee.
